Hector Ruiz, PhD, Chairman
Dr. Hector de Jesus Ruiz is a founder of ANS and serves as the company’s Chairman. A luminary in the field of technology for nearly three decades, he is an accomplished engineer, corporate strategist and chief executive.
Dr. Ruiz’s professional career began at Texas Instruments in the company’s research laboratories and manufacturing operations. He then spent two decades at Motorola, rising from running a microchip manufacturing facility in Scotland, to overseeing the firm’s worldwide semiconductor operations, to leading semiconductor research and development, and finally serving as President of the company’s Semiconductor Products Sector.
In 2000, Dr. Ruiz joined AMD as President and Chief Operating Officer, and in April 2002 he was named Chief Executive Officer. At AMD, Dr. Ruiz set the strategic direction of the company, helping guide its growth from a small, broad supplier of components to an innovative technology solutions leader in the processor space.
In 2006, he announced plans to build and operate the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in upstate New York, and in 2009, he led an industry transformation by spinning out AMD’s manufacturing assets to form GLOBALFOUNDRIES, the first truly global leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing company. During his tenure at AMD, Dr. Ruiz received numerous accolades, including: the Semico Bellwether Award (2009); Executive of the Year – 2005 (EE Times); CEO of the Year – 2005 (Electronic Business); and Top 25 Business Leader – 2006 (FORTUNE Magazine), among others.
Dr. Ruiz currently serves on UT’s College of Engineering Foundation Advisory Council. In 2006, he was selected as a Distinguished Engineering Graduate of UT-Austin, and in 2012, he was selected for the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Texas Exes’ highest honor. Dr. Ruiz currently serves as a Trustee Emeriti of Rice University and is on the Board of Trustees of the RAND Corporation and the Board of Directors of Breakthrough Austin. He is also a Board Advisor to EDCO Ventures, a community development corporation, and is a General Partner in Innovación Investments, a new community development venture capital fund.
Dr. Ruiz attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 1968 and 1970 respectively. He completed his doctoral degree at Rice University in 1973.
Bharath Rangarajan, PhD, Co-Founder, Director
Dr. Bharath Rangarajan is co-founder of ANS and serves as the company’s President. Considered one of the leading strategists in the technology sector, Dr. Rangarajan brings a proven track record of creating value through growth and innovation, along with diverse expertise spanning technology, manufacturing, marketing, strategy and business development.
Previous to founding ANS, Dr. Rangarajan spent more than fifteen years at AMD with his tenure culminating in the role of VP of Corporate Development. While at AMD, he spearheaded large acquisitions and other strategic initiatives that helped establish AMD’s technology and market leadership as a microprocessor solutions provider. His efforts further enabled the creation of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, now a prominent player in the semiconductor manufacturing segment.
Dr. Rangarajan holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Delhi, a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University, and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
Anna Maria Nekoranec, Co-Founder and Director
Ms. Anna Maria Nekoranec is a co-founder and director of ANS and serves as Head of Finance and Investor Relations of ANSI Capital. She has twenty years of experience investing in and developing leading edge technology companies in the United States and Europe.
Ms. Nekoranec is the founder of LBK Capital LLC, a family office for private investing. Prior to founding LBK Capital, she was a partner and managing director of Investor Growth Capital, a $2 billion private equity and venture capital firm focused on technology and healthcare investments in the U.S. and Europe. She has also been a director of the Safeguard International Fund and a Senior Investment Manager of CMS Companies.
Ms. Nekoranec has been an active board member in over 10 privately held companies. Her representative investments include Bredbandsbolaget (acquired by Telenor), ALD Vacuum Technologies (acquired by Advanced Metallurgical Group) and Scanwafer (acquired by Renewable Energy Corporation). She also currently serves on the Jefferson Scholarship regional selection committee for the University of Virginia and is a board member of Forty Carrots, a non-profit organization focused on parenting. She previously served on the Jefferson Scholarship national selection committee of the University of Virginia and the National Campaign Board. She is the co-author of How to Buy a Business: Entrepreneurship through Acquisition.
Ms. Nekoranec holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Modern Studies from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
